Kristen Graves is a Toronto-based singer/songwriter who has been listed as part of the “new generation of folk music” in the New York Times, mentioned in Rolling Stone for her musical activism, and has been given her own day in her previous home state of Connecticut to honor the arts, compassion and social justice.
She has shared the stage with Rusted Root, Dar Williams, Peter Yarrow and Noel “Paul” Stookey [of Peter, Paul & Mary], Harry Belafonte, and the late Pete Seeger. With her poignant songs and a penchant for story-telling, Kristen has toured through the United States, Mexico, Central America and Europe.
She has 9 recordings currently available, with an upcoming bilingual album in the works. Currently working on her PhD in Ethnomusicology at the University of Toronto, Kristen has recently expanded her performances to include speaking at conferences and giving lectures.
